Growing in Spirit while growing your garden!

Hail Mary = 12 seconds
Glory Be = 8 seconds
Our Father = 22 seconds
Many years ago a landscaper was at my home and had planted some new trees and plants. He told me to make sure I water the newly planted trees and plants every day and he said to make sure they get sufficient water; water the existing plants counting in your mind about 15 seconds and actually hold the hose on the existing plants for 15 seconds, but on the new plants to hold the hose for 30 seconds counting. He said counting insures that you actually provide the proper amount of water that is needed for new growth.
Currently one of my daughters has come back home for a short time. She has planted flowers and herbs and some vegetables and as result of her motivation I also engaged a landscaper again, and he planted about six new plants in an area of our yard. This sparked an interest in a need for myself to attend to the backyard because the deer were coming to eat the new plants. So I investigated some deer resistant plants and planted 12 of those. More recently when I’ve been doing my daily watering, and I go and I count either 15 or 30 seconds depending upon how much water I wish to give each plant I replace the counting with a Hail Mary, Our Father and or a Glory Be.
Today it occurred to me as I often pray as I water, how long it might take to say a Hail Mary and I just timed it. It seems a Hail Mary is about 12 seconds. a Glory Be is about eight seconds and an Our Father about 22 seconds.
So when watering my plants rather than just counting time, I can actually pray these prayers repeatedly to help grow my spirit while caring for God‘s creation! You can mix and match the prayers to pray for the desired watering time. This is GodMindfulness living in action. Fiat!
